Monday’s Maven

Full Name: Jessica Erickson

Business & blog:
allora handmade
kids: Owen (3), Henry (almost 2) (both boys if that needed to be clarified)

Location: Provo!

One Word that Describes You: driven. oh, and smiley.

What makes you smile? happy colors, sunshine, little boy belly laughs, my husband’s goofy sense of humor

What is one of your dreams you hope to accomplish soon?

hubs’ graduation just a few months away will be one of the greatest thing ever.  and yes, it’s his graduation and his dream, but it has been a long road for all of us!

One of Your favorite motherhood moments? i love getting to know my boy’s personalities. they really are funny. one of my favorite things is singing lullabies to them at bedtime. they love to sing a long and it magically melts away all the tantrums and frustrations of the day when i hear those sweet little voices singing about Jesus.

What is your guilty pleasure? ice cream. no doubt about it.

What do you love most about you? my ability to pick myself up by the bootstraps and just do what needs to be done. i don’t dwell much on sad or hard things, but look for solutions and that has made my life a little less complicated.

Favorite Place to Travel to? Kauai. it is heaven on earth. hubs and i get to go without the kiddos after graduation, and we can.not.wait. (!!!!)

Who is your hero? i honestly don’t know that i have one hero. i have had so many amazing influences in my life and don’t know that picking one does justice to all the people i look up to.

In Your About Me Section on Your Blog I love This Part That You put, “I Cherish Real Friendships” How Do you Keep or Develop those friendships as a busy Mom, Business Owners, Blogger, ETC. What Has Worked Well for You?

Good question. Blogging has really helped me to keep up with friends that are far away as well as develop new friendships all over the country. But in real life, I really try and make time for girl time for my own sanity. Since I work from home, and I’m not a fan of the winter, I tend to hunker down and forget to get outside. So, I schedule time to get out when I can. I also combine business and pleasure a lot – meetings over ice cream, conferences with some of my best friends, and the queen bee market – which is the most amazing excuse to hang out with seriously talented women. Since my life is so busy right now, I really cherish friendships that don’t necessarily take a lot of work, but that can pick up right where we left off. Makes me not feel so bad about my crazy life.
