Highlights of Spring 2018
For Easter we celebrated with matching dresses, I believe for the last time ever, and Easter Baskets. Some years I talk family into celebrating with us and doing an activity surrounding Jesus. This year I just had my girls and had them look at some art and talked about Him.
On our adventure Fridays we went on some rainy walks, visited bookstores, more museums, and tried new restaurants. Tyler’s cousin opened up a dessert shop that was super fun to try.
Shae improved by leaps and bounds with piano and reading. Learning to read was a struggle for her so it was a big achievement to get to chapter books!
My brother moved in for a few months, inbetween when his lease was up and before he got married. It was really nice to spend a bit more time with him. He came to live with us during I really think the craziest time so far in our lives, so it is good he is probably my most patient sibling.
Playing with neighborhood friends when it was finally warm again outside!
Neighborhood walks with some of my old young women that I just adore.
For Mother’s Day we took my mom to our favorite ladies spot, Les Madelines.
Abby officially went into Young Womens. Reagan had a really off Sunday one week where she was in real tears most of the day. I was her sub that day and just had to take a shot of her sweet friend Gwen just showing her the purest love and friendship.
We went to some more plays at the Utah Children’s Theatre!
My sister Sarah moved to Utah and so she joined us on some of our adventure Fridays. Time with cousins is always perfect.
When Shae & Reagan mastered counting to 100 by 1’s, 5’s, 10’s, 25’s. Also writing all the numbers, learning to add, and learning money concepts we celebrated. I set up a store for them and they had to do math and different stations to actually buy new things. From new pjs to snacks to tshirts.
Luckily we got to spend some extra time with my nephew Jacob while he was living at my sister & brother in laws home. He is such an awesome kid and I still wish we could spend more time with him.
Each week on the same afternoon Reagan got to have a playdate with her friend Neva. Reagan will never forget her because she was such a kind and fun friend. I love all the time they got to spend together.
We finished up our season of book clubs with food fights and get out games. Those were really a highlight of my girls’ childhoods and I will never regret doing them.
For dance team with Abby, Cameron, and Shae they had their spring showcases for all their team dances. Ms Leslie and Ms Heidi were a big part of the girls’ lives for about a decade and will never be forgotten. They gave so much to all the kids they danced with. Some of the best memories is to be able to see all your relatives to come watch you dance. Many forever friends were made from STARS/PEEPS dance teams.
Abby was really helpful to a girl who was injured during the first half of the year in her first year of dance team. She helped film dances for her to catch up on and spent extra time teaching her the moves.
Reagan was too young for dance team but here are a couple clips of her in the Spring in just dance classes.
I try to have my girls invite friends over just one on one to have fun late nights or craft nights with. Cameron always wanted her cousin Lydia to come over. Abby really enjoyed spending time with Chelsea.
Daybreak is the best at family walks, even with a family member isn’t feeling it, springtime walks around Daybreak are the best.
Cameron and I completed a year of therapy to help her through some issues and I am so proud of her for being brave and going. We also go to eat a lot of special breakfasts just her and I before or after the sessions.
Lastly during the Spring my sister in law threw a piano recital for her children, neighborhood kids in her area, and my children to perform. Abby and Cameron’s teacher didn’t do recitals so it was a great opportunity for them. Thankfully they were a lot more professional than the picture below leads you to believe.
